Since it was founded in 1886, Dbus has come a long way as far as bus are concerned. The Company started business with a fleet of 6 open cars and 6 closed cars drawn by horses.
Down through its 135 years of history, Dbus has provided the people of San Sebastian with a service run with cars drawn by horses or mules, electric trams, single deck or double deck trolley buses, buses run on petrol, buses run on diesel and hybrid buses. In 2014 Dbus added its first 100% electric bus to its fleet, yet another step towards an increasingly cleaner and more sustainable fleet.

Dbus is strongly committed to respect for the environment with constant improvements in the efficiency of its fleet and the use of increasingly less pollutant motors and fuels.
It is expected that in the next four years 90% of the Dbus 12-meter fleet will be electric-hybrid, being one of the most environmentally friendly fleets.
